Slipe Leased Primary is still closed after Hurricane Melissa. Help us rebuild the school and restore hope for the children of Lacovia
Slipe Leased Primary & Infant School in Lacovia, St. Elizabeth was devastated by Hurricane Melissa, and to this day, the school has not reopened.
Floodwaters submerged classrooms, destroyed furniture, washed away books, and left the campus structurally unsafe. Teachers lost decades of learning materials, families lost a place of stability for their children, and an entire community lost its only primary school.
Yet, even in the midst of this reality, the children remain hopeful, waiting for the doors of their school to reopen.
Let Us S.O.A.R Foundation, in partnership with the Downtown Kingston Development Project, has stepped in to support the full rebuilding and restoration of Slipe Leased Primary & Infant School. Our mission is to help this community recover, replace what was lost, and give these children back a safe place to learn, grow, and dream.
This is not just a rebuilding effort.
This is a promise to the children of Lacovia that their education will not be another casualty of the storm
